Circles.

This week, we are learning the vocabulary associated with circles. The children need to know the following terms and their meanings:

Circumference: the distance around the outside of a circle

Diameter: the distance from one side of a circle to the other

Radius: the distance half way across a circle

Children don't need to be able to calculate the circumference of a circle. Usually, they are given the radius and asked to calculate the diameter or vice versa.
